Re: Dragonheart radio Show 2018/19 Season
On this week's show we have the second part of our chat with wrexham assistant manager graham barrow… we pick up the conversation again after he had left chester along with Mark Wright and had an offer from former teammate Graham Heathcote, to return to Altrincham where he would take up the role of assistant manager.
He then goes into detail about leaving Altrincham to join Roberto Martinez at Wigan Athletic where he tells us about beating the top sides and surviving on the last day of the season away at stoke city in their second season in the top flight. He also goes into detail of the Day Wigan won the FA Cup final back in May 2013 in front of a crowd of more than 86,000 fans...with the winner being scored by Ben Watson. Graham also talks about wigan crashing out of the premier league in the same season as the cup and the fortunes of the club for the next few seasons Graham tells us about why he didn't follow Martinez to Everton and what convinced him to stay at Wigan. Finally we get on to the subject of Wrexham Afc, and why he joined the Backroom staff to help Manager Sam Ricketts, and wondering to himself if he still had the drive to commit to such a role again, he tells us about changing the midfield and attacking options in the squad, and building on the success of last seasons defence and he also talks about what motivates him in the job, and his relationship with Sam Ricketts. Interviews this week come from Manager Sam Ricketts and Captain Shaun Pearson who talk about the last weekends away win against Braintree town and they alo look ahead to Ebbsfleet at the Racecourse, where they hope to gain another 3 points to keep them up near the top of the table. You can certainly understand why Ricketts got him on board as assistant manager. |
