We will never be the big spenders and our manager will the best he can with the budget we have given him. He will sign 3 or 4 players before next week and you can see how well he has started by bringing in the coaching team he has.

We are playing friendlies at the moment, we are not.playing 100 per cent in any game, it's all about shape and fitness.
Apologies for having a different opinion to you. Can I ask how you know Ricketts will get it right?

FYI the teams we are playing (including Telford) will also be playing for shape and fitness.

More chance of America landing a man on the moon tomorrow than me going to watch let alone paying to see a pre-season kickabout.

Besides I'm busy tomorrow cutting my lawn with scissors it's more exciting.

I would be happier for one.

I cant go due to work, but Telford ran us ragged.

I agree that pre season is for sorting out glitches, but we should have shown some form by now and I have not seen any yet.

I tend to disagree - I thought first half at Airbus we played some tidy stuff and at Telford in the lead up to half time and the first 10 - 15 minutes of the second half we moved the ball around well - however it's a matter of consistency, not just over a season but within 90minutes of a game.

We can play like Brazil for a period but it's no good if we are already two goals adrift - at Telford over 90 minutes we were second best.

Intrigued to see what Ricketts will do with Leo Smith - he started on the right at Airbus and looked a good option but only came on as a late sub on Saturday. Rutherford once again made the assist and love him or loathe him he gets through a terrific amount of work and never stops running.

We have just 180 minutes left to get the right formation and the right players in their best positions - remembering that whatever team Ricketts assembles are yet to play as a team at the Racecourse. I am not going to the FGR fixture on Saturday so tomorrow is my last pre season opportunity to see us up against sterner opposition. Macclesfield have lost their last two pre season friendlies - a 0 - 2 home defeat to Burnley and a 1 - 0 defeat at Altrincham so will also want to put things 'right' under new manager Mark Yates.

Also of interest, they have re signed keeper Rhys Taylor and the ex right back loanee, son of Nigel Pearson at right back and previously of Leicester City.

You read my quote 😎 10 out of 10 PD.

Joking aside each to their own but I'm only interested in the real thing the actual NL kick off, pre-season games are for experimenting with line-ups trying players in different positions ie Wright at CH,matchfitness and seeing where a team needs strengthening.

A clean sheet from us would be an improvement as I am starting to worry about our defence for the coming campaign.
