"game changer" , don't get your hopes up I fear they will be young kids here to learn if what I was told yesterday was true but who knows the truth as little official communication is ever made .

The problems came when they replaced Blissett with Harry Smith, couldn't deal with his height. 1-1 was fair, and a good run-out. Whatever Ricketts said to them after Telford seems to have done something.

Individual ratings:
Lainton: 4/10 - Made some errors but otherwise wasn't challenged. Feel more confident with Dibble in goal.
Roberts: 6/10 - Standard game, was decent
M.Smith: 8/10 - Usual solid Manny performance. Got a goal too.
Tharme: 6/10 - Showed inexperience sometimes but otherwise played well
Jennings: 5/10 - Got down the left flank well but made mistakes defensively
Young: 7/10 - Distributed well and wasn't afraid to try and create something
Summerfield: 8/10 - Ran the show in the first half, was solid in the 2nd. MOTM
Wright: 6/10 - Broke up play, solid game
Rutherford: 6/10 - Worked hard, got in some good balls. Standard stuff, you either appreciate the effort or hate the lack of end product.
Holroyd: 7/10 - Showed his footballing brain, decent hold-up play when he was needed.
Fondop: 7/10 - Caused problems, but didn't get a goal. 10/10 if we're judging him on his comedy though.

SUBS:
Dibble: 5/10 - Conceded although there wasn't much he could do about it, otherwise decent game.
Carrington: 5/10 - Not really fair to give him something other than bang-on average. Didn't get time to show much but made some tackles.
L. Smith and Sargeant: N/A - Didn't have time to do anything.

All in all, a good response to the Telford loss. Hopefully it's not like Keates' squad where we'd get a response and then back to the same the next game.
I went and I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement over the Telford game but it couldnt get much worse . Agree with your scores and comments except Lainton who I thought had a good game and I would score him 7.

There's loads of official communication over various platforms. I think what you mean is that the club don't tell us about signings until they've actually signed.

And that's how it should be no announcements till a player's signed on the dotted line.

He can put 10 balls into the box and the law of averages means that eventually 1 of them will find somebody.

Basically the point is that he should be looking to find a man with his ball into the box and not just hit and hope. He also needs to be a bit more confident in taking the man on and committing him as he has the pace but for some reason prefers to pass backwards or sideways.

Hope that helps a bit - LOL.
The problem he has with finding a man in the box was last season there was only usually one player in there up against 4 or 5 defenders. The top wingers in the world would have struggled finding players last season with our defensive mindset.

That's it in a nutshell.

I was perhaps a little hard on Lainton, however twice in that half he came rushing off his line and didn't get the ball.

The first one from a ball in which Ben Stephens really should have scored from and a second where Jennings had to poke it wide for a corner. 5 is probably more fair but I think we'd be a lot harder on him if Macc. had scored from his errors.

It’s interesting that Deverdics has become an important player to our system now. He links up well with Fondop and offers goals , something we don’t have from anyone else in midfield.
