Re: Wrexham & Salford.
Good article, nothing we didn't know, but something the FL clubs need to get a grasp of rather than continue to protect their own. Don't agree about the 'joke league' bit, evidence is showing the NL is getting stronger and is far more competetive of FL Div2, what is a bad joke is the current barrier in the football pyramid.

Re: Wrexham & Salford.
The three up, three down system would be nice, but as the author alluded to if it's up to the League Two clubs it'd be like the turkeys voting for Christmas.
Excellent article though. National League is a very flawed league and this raises all the issues I have with it. |

Re: Wrexham & Salford.
"We talk about it for twenty minutes and then we decide I was right." -Brian Clough
Nice quote! One of the best sights I've seen in football was Brian Clough emerging from his dressing room door, his cheeks as red as beetroot and looking like he wanted to lamp someone after Wrexham had just beaten his progressively declining European Cup Winning Side 3-1 in the FA Cup on his own turf with a Peter Shilton in goal. Salford City must feel like the antichrist for FC United of Manchester. The antithesis of every thing they believe in. Both small clubs, both local to one another, both with direct links to big brother MUFC. But with philosophies of ownership and governance poles apart.

Re: Wrexham & Salford.
What are we doing about it? Does the club as a 'member' of a league system get a vote, influence, ability to put motions forward?
Are we canvassing other clubs to get support for rule changes? Are we focused on promotion and then closing the trap door once up and just looking up? Anyone know? |

Re: Wrexham & Salford.
That's not going to do anybody any good though is it? I think and indeed hope they go up so a bit of normality can return. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see them go pop eventually but in the mean time the best result for all concerned is for the plastic bar stewards to get the hell out of here asap.
