A very good read, but he failed to mention that when these super rich clubs get promoted they come under the football leagues fair play system, like in his scenario of Dale Vince promotion to division one will be easy.

Or is it as I suspect very easy to fiddle the fair play system?

Take the Premier league and the obscene amounts of money being spent at the top there.

I feel it's only a matter of time before the wealthy clubs in the Premier elope & form a European league with Barcelona the 2 Madrids. Juventus, Psg, Bayern etc etc... Let's face it the Premier league teams are Foreign clubs anyway now. All have foreign owners,foreign managers, foreign players, and a big following abroad, they are alien to the British game.

Ironically we would get far better fixtures in the Conference North. Our misery in this league has been exacerbated by its increasingly southern bias. Btw I am one of the few who do not believe that Salford will walk this league. A couple of crunching tackles from from the usual lumpen defender in this league can soon terrify a forward used to the non contact sport which is Premiership football nowadays

Superb article and in the words of Prince Regent George - it's really is a cracking good read. It's an absolutely splendid job.

My opinion on this is that L2 needs to encompass the NL and divide into a regional structure. This would help reduce costs, increase crowds and revenue and still provide a route for funded, sugar daddy clubs into the FL but at a stage earlier i.e. NL North/South.

Agree as to article and to regionalisation. Trouble is it does not seem to get discussed by anybody but fans. This really is a selfish game now.

I have done a league North and South on another thread. Depending where you have the halfway point, the North will have 18 teams and the South 30.

Whenever a new idea has to be sold, it is essential to find the strong benefits for BOTH parties involved (i.e. L2 and NL clubs.) Without a sense of gaining something, no one will agree on the changes.
