My mate from Wetherspoons reds swears blind that we're signing a fella from Coventry called Stuart Beavon? He was supping with a relative of his this morning in a Spoons down south somewhere.
He's usually bang on. He mentioned weeks ago about a young striker from Bristol City.

Davies would be decent, Beavan would have a touch of the McLeod's about it I feel.

Beavan is contracted until next summer, so Coventry would have to release him or a fee would be involved.

I would be far from impressed with a fee for a 34 year old player who spent much of last season injured.

34-year olds who are 5ft 7 with two goals since 2016 are the last thing we need.

A Bradford mate of mine rates this Steven Davies, says he would be suprised if he dropped to this level. Would certainly be a better signing than Beavon.

A striker who doesn’t score goals.....sounds perfect.

Steve Davies is exactly what we need, Beavan was a decent player, but at 34 and with hardly any goals to his name in recent years plus injuries I bloody well hope it's not him.

Experience up top is lacking. It is here where the balance is way,way out.

Saying we don't need an experienced front man because we have Manny smith is flawed.

I know Freddie from watching Jonny play and he is very good, and very quick, good feet and will see score you goals this season. I actually think he will do really well in Conference this year and would put 6-10 goals in by Xmas as a good bet.

Will be nice to see all the boys climb this year and great to also see Leo getting his chance now.... he is going to be a great midfielder in the next year ....

Exciting times for you ... and I will be following your winning scores

All the best guys...

Gary.....
