If this is a taste of what is to come this season, then we are going to be more entertaining to watch for sure. We were missing Pearson, the new improved Deverdics and Pyke. Add Hinds and Beavons into the mix and we must be stronger than last season.

Re: Sam Ricketts red and white army
In my view:
The formation and loss of Wedgebury might make us a bit more vulnerable so the defensive unit may be a little weaker, but personnel wise its obviously the same. The midfield seems a lot stronger. Good players, and in Deverdics in his preferred position, Young and Summerfield we have a very good attacking platform. We will create far more than we did last season. The attack has mkre question marks. The most consistent performer, Holroyd, is still there. We started last season with Boden, who underperformed, and Massanka. MFT, Pyke, Hines and Beavon cant do any worse. Both Pyke and Hines come with decent accounts of previous loans at a higher level amd whilst they havent scored many goals profrssionally they have also played at higher levels generally. Beavon has a queation marl over his fitness but comes with a reputation as a hard worker who improves the teams he plays in. Fondlop Talom looms like the big target man weve been mossong. Hes scored goals at this level despite not playing much. Pre season he looks a threat. Im sure we will score a lot more than last season. Loads of unknowns but until we see them.play competitive games who knows. |

Re: Sam Ricketts red and white army
As an exile I won't get a chance to see the new boys play until Maidenhead next month and I will hope to come away with 3 points like last year. However, having watched the highlights of Tuesday's <Macc game this afternoon I was pleased to see that Sam's tactics seemed to be to play the ball more on the ground than just lumping it in the air and trusting to luck. I also thought that Summerfield looked better than what we had in midfield last season and that Tharme was promising as a back up cenral defender. if we are going to play mire attractive football that would be an excellent start.
