I think genuine quality up front is a player you can bank on to get twenty goals. We have six strikers now and none of them will get near that.

In goal, genuine quality is a proven experienced keeper. We don’t have that either.

On the plus side Young and Summerfield will create more than Kelly and Wedgebury, and Deverdics should offer more in his new position. However , we will feel the loss of Wedgebury defensively.

Finally, our diminutive side will struggle against very average bog standard teams from the south east who have virtually an entire team over six foot.

Not many players can guarentee you 20 goals a season. Five players got that last season and only 2 of them are still in our league, and neither are in our price range.

You are making all these predictions and you may yet be proved right but I prefer to wait and see. I sont think we will do as badly as you think (nor do I think we will be challenging Salford for top spot).

I agree with you about the midfield and thats one of my reasons for cautious optimism.

Any player signing for a National League side is never going to be akin to Ronaldo or Messi, so the odds are stacked in favour of the negative minded who predict their failure. Of course over the years many signings have turned out badly, but that applies to all clubs at all levels. Sometimes combinations of players click, and god forbid, the fans get behind them, and positive momentum drives it on.

Agree. I always look forward to a new season, but this time I think we may finally be on the right track. Fingers crossed.

Don’t just put out the same old rhetoric about “20 goal a season strikers” and “proven experienced ‘keepers” that we should be signing.

Name names.

What does a 20 goal a season striker look like? Would he come with a guarantee? Of course not. None of them do, though I am sure you will argue otherwise.

We can all put out the rhetoric but it means nothing really does it? Just the same old same old negative sh*te, because you don’t approve of the Trust.

A bit like you saying that new investors won’t come in because the Trust hasn’t advertised the Club for sale.............

Young is creative, deverdics in his natural position should create more and Rutherford who may not be everyone's favourite still managed a ruck of assists with last season's goal shy attack. So I think we do have some creative players. . Hopefully this season's forwards don't need a sat nav to find the net

I do believe Ricketts has delivered on his promises.

Fondop in his short career has scored some goals. Now I've seen him play I'm perfectly willing to believe he created interest at higher levels than us.

Pyke looks a duffer when viewed at senior level, but he hasn't been there long. He is at the perfect point in his development for us to reap a season's worth of rewards.

Hind's current value is probably around 1 million. I'm basing that on a Championship club being willing to protect their investment with a 3 year deal.

I reject the argument we haven't signed quality. It doesn't guarantee results however.

I'm going to Dover and I feel positive from some of the feedback from friendlies (Macc) , I like the combination of youth and experience and feel we have a better team than last season.

We might get battered at Dover but I will be watching over the first ten matches or so to see if the team gels.

If the prophesies of shameful failure are realised then I will be as quick as anyone to criticise but as I have yet to develop clairvoyant ability and cannot confidently predict the future I will be controversial and keep an open mind and get behind this team

Hurrah! The voice of reason and balance.
Come on we have a role to play as well.
Get behind the team and support rather than be negative before we have kicked a ball in anger.

Does that mean Massanka was worth three million being a premiership club.
