The only reason saunders got the job was because of his close golfing friendship with moss/dickens.I bet he knew long term what our saviours long term plan was.

And how much was the man paid per season? Stick rightly so and his owners. Almost sank the club between them. Never forget.

I disagree. We have a specific ownership model, and I think we need to publicise the fact that we are willing to deviate from it, in order to generate interest.

One thing people are imploring is “external investment”. That’s not an unfair demand given that we’re continually being outspent by clubs with a fraction of our fan base but in this league, your fan base isn’t that important.

However, in the next few months, the club should be in the envious position of having investment by way of the Danny Ward money. Most are hopeful it won’t be less than £1m; maybe closer to £2m.

Those who are dubious of the Trust; this is the investment you’re asking for. What’s more, we don’t have to give any of the club away or go into debt to achieve such a windfall.

But what’s more concerning, reading posts on here, is the distrust in the Trust and its key members despite the undeniable fact they saved the club and put it on a steady footing. People have more faith in some mythical character with deep pockets than actual people who’ve done good for this club.

If the Ward money is what we hope, why not give the Trust a chance to spend it. If anything, it’s a watershed moment for fan-ownership. In say 3 years, if they balls it up, there’ll be growing support to sell the club.
I've been a huge advocate of the need for investment, but that is mot the same thing as being dubious of the trust. The board, both boards, do a good job in difficult circumstances due to the fact money is tight. That is the fundamental problem with our ownership model.

Hopefully the ward money will give us the impetus to get promoted in the next couple of seasons.

Are we willing to deviate from the current ownership model?

If there is genuine interest in terms of external investment, anyone worth their salt would do it privately unless they’re trying to cause trouble.

I don’t think they have 3 years left in them if the last 3 years is anything to go by. If we are still in this league 3 years from now they should 100% look for someone to take us forward.

The worst part of being where we are is the fact if you have a young player and he shows any potential they are gone as soon as a higher team comes, same as any of the first team players. The turnaround of player movement is also very high there is no point in making a 3 year plan it’s simply go for it all in one season.

No assets = No investment

Its as simple as that really. Whilst that Ward money is welcome its not going to go as far as some people think it will. Salford have seriously messed the league up this season with what they are paying. If they don't go up this season its going to cost us more to try and attract players who know we do have some cash the season after.

What has happened to the Taylor money? Was that put into the playing budget? If so how much and what difference has it made. More to the point how much did we get. Serious consideration should be given to trying to purchase the ground even a 50/50 ownership model with GU to reduce the lease costings.
