My issue is with the view that Carrington/Raven/bag of sand are better options in that position, which clearly they are absolutely not.

How I read it is Ricketts has targets, I'm thinking players already at clubs, who may become available on loan. I'm expecting these to be players he has already enquired about but has been told that they may be in their clubs plans. These are probably players from higher up the leagues on the verges of first team. We are a very attractive club for a loan player. More attractive than your Salfords.

He's a very attacking full-back. He's pretty much a wing-back at this point who isn't defensively solid but he does offer an attacking option down the left and will likely chip in with 2-3 goals and half a dozen assists a season.

In this league you're either getting a defensively sound full-back who can't attack or a good attacking full-back whose isn't that great defensively. 99% - or maybe even 100% - of full-backs who can do both are playing higher up.

Re: more signings - defensive cover is needed. And out-and-out left winger would be nice too to give us a different attacking option.

Left winger and got a fair few assists in this league for Forest Green, but not got a great goalscoring record. Still under contract at Motherwell so could be another loan.
