Ray was a lovely gentleman. I first met him on the bowling green at the Gate in the mid 90's, when I started bowling, and was immediately struck by his friendliness and sportsmanship towards his opponents, me included. He always had a happy/cheeky smile on his face, one of those people who you could have a competitive game against and what ever the outcome, shake hands and have a chat after. It was a pleasure to have known him.

Sorry for your loss PD! Always passed his sweets along and shared them out. Remember PD gave my brother his 50/50 ticket after he'd won a signed shirt at the Grimsby anniversary game. You couldn't wish to meet nicer people.
