However as we all know teams don't always live up to the expectations and I think the league is going to be far closer than many think and a good start is vital.
Agree, my honest assessment of the squad going in to the season is that we look bang average.
However, if we click, add a match winning attacking midfielder/ forward, go on a run and score goals, who knows.

I've done a bit each way on Orient, Edinburgh is a solid manager and they've strengthened a bit, odds look slightly generous (each way not to win).
Fylde are possibly a bit bigger than they should be as well?
I had salford 6/1 before they came in, and Barnet at 11/1 .

Not sure if you're serious here.

Quotes given by manager's to newspapers mean nothing. It's what he tells the players about his expectations for the season that matters.

No manager comes out and says that they expect to win the league or gain promotion to a national paper and if they do, they're setting themselves up for a fall as other teams will use this as motivation.

Flynnie's target was always 50points (and that used to p*** a lot off because we should be aiming for promotion

A wise old bird always says "Underpromise, and overdeliver."

Tell your customer to expect the delivery tomorrow, and turn up a week late. Where does that get you?

On the other hand, promise a reasonable standard but deliver excellence - that's what winners do.

Disagree, interviews are preety much the only form of engagement between manager/ fans so they are meaningfull

, ‘we hope to be competitive ‘ is a far better soundbite than ‘ dont expect too much ‘ as a wrexham manager in the 11th season of non league

It’s probably the type of mentality that sits fine with the club board but not with me

Its probably bollox anyway

It took FGR years to get out of this league even though they had green houses full of money.
Nobody in their right mind would have predicted Macclesfield to be Champions any more that Accrington Stanley in Division 2.

Football is about teams rather than individuals and we have some consistency in our dressing room along with some 'better' players.

Look at the poll for 2018 prediction by the fans. Based on your opinion, any fan that has voted for anything outside champions or play off places should do the same then?
