Pedantic I know but Wrexham and Salford should be shown as equal top on the PPG table not first and second as goal difference is immaterial.

Pedantry in the extreme! If I did a GPG for and against, home and away and extrapolated to 46 games we would still see Salford ahead of us. I'll be happy to see us deservedly top and six points ahead of Salford when I go to bed on 1st January! :hurray:

Again, we didn't score against Harrogate - but we get them at home Tuesday night. Not to put a damper on it, but this is the team that won 2-0 at the Racecourse, last December, to eliminate us from the FA Trophy at the first hurdle. Even so, we now have a longer FA Cup run than last season!

I see they are only opening the MRS (sorry, Hay's Travel Stand) for the replay. With a capacity of 3,500, it might be a tight squeeze - I'm going to get there early.

A tidy win! Wright was given MOM, but, for me, it was between Beavon and Young with Beavon just edging it. How he wins so many headers against bigger opponents never ceases to amaze me.

I think its because he wants it more DW - he is also a skilful, high quality footballer but the real key to his success with headers is bravery.

A point away from home is no bad thing, but an injury time equaliser hurts.

PPG table has us second, ahead of Salford.

We certainly made hard work of the second half against 10 men!

However, while not clapping happily, I think we did better than people are saying. To me, the loss of their centre back just before half time had little effect. Because Pyke was so ineffective (being kind here), they were able to comfortably switch from 4-4-2 to 3-4-2 and so they were comfortably able to keep the pressure on. No excuse though for adopting a defensive attitude once we got the lead.

Now I’m all in favour of you hiding your deliberate mistakes, finding them keeps my brain active, but when the mistake is so obscure as the number of FA Cup games for which Holroyd was available, looking for them becomes a chore rather than fun.

If I thought last week’s error was obscure, this week's takes the biscuit. After the Chester away win last November, we were 2nd behind Dover on goal difference with 33 points, not 3rd.

Oh dear Draig, this delayed spotting of your errors is catching! I was comparing our current performance with last year's when I noticed in the Same Team and Venue 17/18 table that we gained a 1-1 draw at Bromley on 30 March but our points total was unchanged on 32. This is clearly a slip as you show us gaining 4 points for a win in the next fixture!!

Seriously though, keep up the good work. It's a useful point of reference even if you do make the odd error. Where else could I confirm that we have already scored more than 2 goals in a game twice as many times as the whole of last season?

On closer inspection, the stats are correct and show we were 2nd, it's our PPG position which was 3rd. Your 9 out of 10 has to be reduced to 7

As you were at the match I am sure you know what happened but I suggest that you take your watch to be cleaned, both the official WFC report and the BBC have Beavon coming on in the 88th minute, Walker in the 69th and Maguire Drew Barney Magrew on in the 66th minute.

You're damn right it's two points dropped, according to your player stats we finished with 13 players, two off and four on. Best if Ricketts goes to the Shrews if his teams can't win with that advantage.

After Barrow (A) VNL - 27/11/2018 (0-0)

4 Attachment(s)
A point away from home keeps us in 3rd place. But now we start to slip behind in games played with Bromley postponed on Saturday. The ubiquitous "games in hand" come into play.

Pearson and Walker will miss the next league game (under the new rules) having earned five yellow cards a couple of games early - the new cut-off is 23 league games; the ten yellows cut-off is 37 games.

On Saturday, Fondop, Rutherford, Walker and Wright are all at risk of a ban for the 3rd round game if we win. The FA Cup has a one game ban after two FA Cup yellows.

Incidentally, we are 11 points better off this year compared to last year against the same teams!

To set the record straight, I use BBC, Flash Scores and the club match report in compiling this stuff. There are often discrepancies on times of events and I take the time given by two (or three) of the above).

In the instance you point out, I was wrong, and have been happy to grant Rutherford one extra minute of playing time at the expense of Maguire-Drew.

I do appreciate the effort you put into keeping the stats as accurate as possible and thank you.

After Newport (H) FAC R2 - 01/12/2018 (0-0)

5 Attachment(s)
A very close first half that we just edged and then a second half where we pretty much dominated but just didn't get the breaks. Newport fans should be well pleased they got away with a draw.

There were league games taking place which caused us to slip to 4th place and we are now in the "games in hand" arena.

Pearson is suspended for the Eastleigh game for his five League yellows and Walker misses Eastleigh for five League yellows and misses the Newport replay for two Cup yellows (is my understanding).

In the manager stats, I credited SR as he is our manager, but was he technically on gardening leave and should I give it to Barrow? Hmm...
