So when Sammy snake claims to have left us in the best position we have been for years?

Team? Agreed
Financial? Yes ...but not really down to him,Danny ward cash
Results? We are similar to last year in the league, fa cup is obviously better than last couple

With a forecast of freezing rain on my drive home up the M56, I decided against attending. Shame on me and well done those hardy souls who did attend.

With 7 of the squad missing through sickness, injury or suspension, it was a comfortable victory. Nice to see Holroyd finally get a full 90 minutes and a youth player, Sargent, making his debut.

I was there and the Cold Road Stand lived up to it’s name. As I said I was there and noticed that Boston used 3 subs 57, 73 & 79 minutes.

Thank you! BBC and Flashscores are pretty sparse in their coverage of early FAT games and the club match report doesn't always have full information until a couple of days later. Maybe I should add a rider "at the time of going to press"!

See you Boxing Day, I hope!

P.S. Beavon was an unused sub, goodness knows what you've got him down as. I know I should have pointed this out in my previous post but having found one error I didn't believe you could be capable of two after such a minor match.

An away draw is never a bad thing, a clean sheet is never a bad thing, not scoring is a bad thing. Merry Christmas! :)

With 22 games to go last season we were looking pretty good in the league. Of those 22 games, we only lost 4 - these 4 games were lost in the last 5 games of the season! So what happened? What happened is we only won 5 while we went on our endless draw campaign! Let's hope for better things this year!

You little tinker, obscure mistakes again. Barnet have played 22 games, points total 31. I’ll let you find out which game you’ve missed, I have a life.
Halifax have played 24, 27 points but they haven’t played Barnet yet.

What a way to spend Boxing Day! I was expecting heavy traffic on the M56 heading home, as I would be mixing it with the Salford fans - but of course they all left early and they only had a mini-bus and a scooter!

Tremendous crowd, tremendous result - you've gotta believe (though I'm sure there'll be naysayers on other threads).

Our gates are averaging over 5,190. The budget has, in the past been set based on last season's average, which was 4,650. This means that we are about 6,500 seats above break-even so far. The budget is based on an average of £10 per seat sold and so we now have £65K in the coffers above our budget. Along with all the other windfalls, surely Mr. Barrow will be given a nice boost for the New Year!

And now, an apology! As my voluntary auditor, Hamilton Casual, has pointed out, there are discrepancies in the PPG Table (which has a knock on effect to other stats. The good news is that this affects, for the most part, mid-table teams and Salford. I will be working day and night (maybe) to correct this error and, hopefully, accuracy will be restored (or, some would say, finally introduced!) before the New Year dawns.

Bloomin' Hec! It's getting tougher to spot them, but they are still there. Games banned in the Cup total one more than on your spread sheet, i.e. 2. No clues but it was one of our Young players who was suspended.

Fake news! [/B]:D

After countless hours (well, fewer than one - but more than one minute) searching for this supposed error, I find that you mis-read the stats.

Mr Young was, indeed, suspended for 3 games as is correctly shown in the overall figures. The "2" that you refer to is the number of league games he missed; the third game being duly recorded as an FA Trophy game.

Now can I get back to sorting the real errors in the PPG table?

I'll be looking for you on Saturday! :D :D :D

Boy, do you ever give up? :D But thanks, it really is appreciated!

Mr Maguire-Drew tweeted that he has left the building. This has now been confirmed by the club.

A terrific win today against the dirtiest side I've seen this season and a totally inept referee. PPG has us in 1st place and automatic promotion is now in our hands!

Salford lose again and it would be nice to start the new year by completing their humiliation!

Our home gate average will be over 4,000 even if nobody shows up for the rest of the season!

The errors in the PPG still exist and the affected teams are Barnet, Boreham Wood, Halifax, Harrogate, Hartlepool, Havant and Salford - nobody of any significance. I hope to have it corrected for the posting after the New Year's Day games. Again my apologies.

I don’t normally look at the Results Matrix, too complicated, don’t understand all the figures, but shouldn’t the number of Wins in the horizontal line equal the number of Losses in the vertical column? Just asking for a friend.

Re: Like for Like 2018-19

Thanks Draig. A couple of interesting stats.
- We have now played 5 of our play off competitors (Top 7) away from home and have failed to score in each of these games.
- We are unbeaten away against the bottom six teams (W3 D3). The most we have scored in any of these games is 2.

As we all know if we want to reach the play offs we have to start scoring more goals. With a few exceptions this has been going on all season, not just post-Ricketts. Over to you Mr Barrow.

draigwrecsam 21st January 2019 15.44:16

Re: Like for Like 2018-19

Barrow's League record is W3 D1 L4 since he took over and up until the end of the year he was W3 D1 L0. Initially it appeared to be "business as usual" in comparison with Rickett's W12 D7 L3. So, come the New Year and we lose 4 in a row. This to me is totally inexplicable. Obviously something has changed.

New faces have come in but have barely played; I put this down, possibly, to lack of fitness due to not being first choice at their old club. I imagine that finding good players who have been playing regularly, are hard to find in January. If this is the case, I understand the players not yet being selected. However, I don't understand the current bunch suddenly "giving up the ghost".

A bit of a nervy ending by all accounts, but our new manager keeps his 100% win record. We play our game in hand over Solihull next Tuesday at Boreham Wood where a win will put us top of the league.

For some reason, there are some RPers who believe we are in a false position and that this squad is not good enough to challenge at the top. I like to let the numbers do the talking. That being said, last weeks deliberate error has been corrected. :D

Hamilton Pathetic 17th February 2019 11.05:20

Re: Like for Like 2018-19

Now I haven't gone through it with a fine toothcomb but can you clarify something for me regarding the National League player stats spreadsheet?

Goals scored total 40 which excludes the two penalties Wrexham have converted whilst the goals against total of 24 includes the two penalties scored against which is inconsistent.
The reason for this is that the individual player's goals scored totals do not include penalties which have to be added to the players' scoring. Separating the penalties is an interesting and unique way of totalling a players achievements and not one I have come across elsewhere, i.e. in all media.
