A pretty scrappy affair until Young came on, or Deverdics went off according to your fancy, but a comfortable win nevertheless.

We're signing players almost as quickly as we're scoring goals! From a stats point of view, Saturday signings are a dilemma! Was Lawlor eligible to play, or not? I decided to give him an n/a rather than an x as the official announcement came after the game.

A fair result I thought. Given that he met his teammates on Monday, Lawlor looked good after a shaky/rusty start. Once he's settled in, I think we'll see some classy football from him.

I’m hardly back up and running but even my limited access to the stats shows that standards have fallen in my absence.

Three points is three points and we've avoided Braintree's annual Winter postponements! I will provide the ten game snapshots shortly.

On the loan front, the FA have altered their rules this season regarding short term loans. Burgess was thus signed on a short term loan until January and everyone (FA/FAW/VNL) was happy except for the EFL who insisted on the old 93 day limit. Consequently, Bury agreed to convert the Scott Burgess loan to 3 months. Walker was also to be a similar short term loan but is now, thank you EFL, our sixth and final long term loan. So that's cleared that up! Many thanks to Wrexham Legend Geraint Parry for taking the time to respond to my query

Ha! This weeks error was so easy to find I'm surprised you made it. It's so obvious you don't need me to tell you where it is, so I won't.

I have just watched the Braintree highlights and there clear as day is Summerfield on the pitch at the end of the game. This must be clever CGI because your stats say he was substituted, couldn’t see Young on the pitch though.
