I think vanity mission is also a touch misplaced. He clearly likes the limelight, but his successful business is wrapped into ecology, so it makes sense that he is trying to direct the football club he owns in that eco direction.

Its not harming football, in his eyes it's trying to change the football industry for the better and bringing in sustainability policies. I can see why it alienates away fans, because delivering green ethical football is a bit like a black sheep in a flock of white sheep. The black sheep will always be targeted by the farmer because it looks different and appears to be an outsider, even if its wool feels just the same and or is a better quality than the white wool.

Being unique will work to his advantage.

Your right, if DV sold the club and walked away FGR would likely grind to a halt, unless a another rich benefactor got behind it . But thats like all football clubs who go down the rich benefactor route and most clubs who have been successful in recent decades have done exactly that. And another rich benefactor seems to always knock on the door for those type of clubs.

FGR as a club isn't dependent on their away supporters, but their fanbase will grow if they have success. Thats inevitable.

We need to look at other football clubs business models and find whats best for Wrexham, define why we are unique as a community owned club, but dissing other clubs fanbase and saying they are inconsequential won't get us there, even if it does make you feel better.
Well I wasn’t expecting such a missive El P, though you make a lot of sense in what you post, as usual.
I agree, they do have a USP with their green credentials, though I’m not sure it’s footballs role to play a significant role in this. But hey ho!

As for us, I’d rather we continued to use your signature strap as our USP!

Particularly as our other Spanish themed poster tells us they brought less than 10 fans to the pre season friendly (would that be 9 or was it nearer 1?)

Thought it was 7, with 4 stewards 😉 (if we gift them the stewards they achieved double figures)

I wonder if we still have the following in America that we had in the 90s due to the book 22 funny foreigners in funny shorts (a must read for any Wrexham fan)

am currently conversing with Pete D.

Redrobinman, Imagine how those 7 FGR fans will feel, the day they actually reach the Championship and when they don't even need to be the last one to turn off the lights, because the stadium is run on solar energy.

The P take of these clubs is a bit lighthearted as I am sure you are aware.
We get these clubs with 10-20 fans giving it the 'You were famous once and now your shit' stuff so they have to get it back in return.

Lets face it for a lot of these clubs we are their cup final.

Whilst Vince maybe a Eco warrior at least his money isn't tainted like some of these owners nudge nudge wink wink.
