It was a penalty. Wright kicked their lad’s foot.

Lainton clearly collided with his own player [Pearson?],so can't be blamed for dropping it,but we clearly got a lucky break there.

A half decent keeper should come out screaming “keepers” and take the ball, and anything in his way with it. I know we’re not going to get a top keeper at this level, but one that’s good with crosses should be a must in our league.

I actually think Dibble’s good at claiming the high ball, and he’d be my first choice.

Full highlights are now up on youtube. Interesting that none of the players appealed to the ref that the Dover player dived for the penalty. Last season we would have seen all 11 players surrounding the ref, maybe Ricketts has told them to cut it out. Our attacking play looks so much better already. The forwards having a influence and the midfield playing forward passes more often and Young having a couple of efforts on goal too. Looks like big Mike Fondop looks to be a fan favourite already, loved the fans singing his name before the corner in the 2nd half. The disallowed goal was soft and Lainton should do better, but plenty of decisions like that will go against us over the course of the season. Looking forward to Tuesday now!

Im hopeful he has. Too many times in recent seasons we lose our heads and all composure. End up down to ten men and then lose the game or our style of play completely goes out the window.

Cool heads lead to better performances. Its huge at this level to be able to keep to your game and not get dragged into theirs.

We are too often playing the "hard done by" card. moaning at refs. Just get over it and get on with it. Play the game.
