Kind of get your point but forget Macc, there were plenty of games we can say if we'd got 3 points not 1 or 0 we'd have been ok. It's perfectly possible to be promoted having lost to all the top sides if others beat them.

All that said, momentum (or if you like, consistency) is hugely important. boring old saying but here goes! Success breeds success.
