Default Ref watch

Hoping I don't speak too soon but after all the rubbish refs the last couple of seasons I have been quite impressed with the refs so far. The lad last night was happy to let the game flow and play advantages rather than be the star of the show.

Our players arent spending half the game whingeing about decisions either. Which is one of the big changes from last year. We got so caught up in the "hard done by" mentality it became self fulfilling.

Both Fylde and Boreham came to play football.
Also there appears a different attitude so far - Pearson isn't falling on his arse at every set piece appealing with arms outstretched and berating the ref - perhaps a different discipline culture reflected in the one yellow card to Rutherford last night.

To be fair the refs have looked good in the games I have seen.

This has been a huge change. I like Sam's mindset, play the game!

Our best loved ref Sam Allison had no trouble issuing 5 yellow cards last night in the game he was involved in. Clearly not all of them have adapted and changed their attitude

There must be a love-in on here if the refs are being praised. Next, the half time cup of tea will be getting rave reviews!

There must have been instructions from the top. I noticed one occasion during the Fylde game where a decision went against us and Jennings approached the linesman. Rather than get agitated he had a friendly chat and seemed to indicate that an opposing player had been consistently fouling him before giving the linesman a friendly thumbs up. Bit of a difference from some of his stroppy displays last season.

Didn't try the tea but the chips were very nice!
Thought the ref was going to book a couple of our players for the celebration with the crowd after the first goal but he just stood there laughing at them

Don't read it if it's an issue.
