I think a lot are missing the point of where has the money gone from bigger than budgeted gates last season? where has BTB gone this season? The so called extra money for Sam? Look at his signings and how many are actually our own players?

Do you have any reason to think that?

I think we can see where the money has gone, there have been modest but improvements to the ground, SDR has an increased & improved his backroom staff and we have started the season with more players as it appears the purse strings to the first team budget has been increased on top of the 2 year deals DK agreed. We now have 6 out and out strikers and you can see the extra quality.

SDR has, IMHO, used his limited resources wisely by bringing in many loanees who add value to the club. Granted, most will not be here next season - either because they are too good for this level or their salaries would be unaffordable. Furthermore, many of our permanent signings will be out of contract at the end of the season; some do not deserve an extension unless they improve.

Ultimately, SDR will be judged on whether we are promoted or not. We are in a good state, albeit we have rode our luck at times. Essentially, we are still WIP as we try to find the best starting XI, formation and tactics.

Regards assisting the club to grow - there are many good initiatives that should be progressed but, ultimately, it mostly boils down to performances on the pitch. If we are successful and entertained, the fans will flock back to the Racecourse.

Agreed PD, it's performances/results on the pitch that brings in the fans but it is also chicken & egg, which comes first; a good team or revenue growth. There will be times where the team aren't getting results and we have all seen how quickly, crowds can dwindle but we still all expect the manager to take the club forward. The club have also had to cut back in a number of areas to improve the first team budget, so if we want that maintained we need to grow.

My opinion is we should not be faffing about, we need to increase membership more inline with our average home gates as a minimum. There is always optimism early season and now is the ideal time to put the club's and our own efforts into increasing membership as SDR has instantly introduced a feel good factor.

More g oid times maybe round the corner, as the Danny Ward money filters through, but this is about building a long standing foundation to help the club avoid boom & bust and become more robust. Many casuals will be there for the next few games if we maintain the current form, so no harm spoon feeding them with an application form.

It’s obvious that our budget has increased. The loanees we have will not have come cheap. They may well be on wages that are higher than we would normally pay.

As for the benefits of membership - the main benefit is owning and funding our club. It’s a bit like banking with a co-op or a mutual like a building society. You then own the society and in return help fund the product you benefit from. It’s a virtuous circle.
