Re: Next Batch of TV Live Games
I'm glad it hasn't been as I already have my cheap train tickets which would have been wasted with a change in kick off time

Re: Next Batch of TV Live Games
I am a subscriber to BT Sport - I got it purely because of the National League coverage.
I think they attempt to be fair to all clubs - not necessarily picking the 'match of the day' but trying to get around as many grounds as possible. As others have said the Halifax v Chesterfield match looks the most appealing - the kick off times are purely down to the restrictions placed on tv viewing but as some would argue there may be a possible drop in attendance with an altered kick off time - but what we gain is national exposure and putting ourselves in the shop window for sponsorship which must be well received by our main club sponsors. |

Re: Next Batch of TV Live Games
If we are going to be shown on TV much rather it's an away game. Think we have too big a drop in attendance for a home game, plus most away games are down near London area and living in Newcastle very expensive to get to regularly.

Like others glad that Chesterfield away has been left alone!

Re: Next Batch of TV Live Games
Crewe Alex were always one of our closest derby rivals - Port Vale are only 13 miles the other side of Crewe.
There was / is a history of bad blood between us and Vale - I suppose being reasonably close to us and having a large following added spice to the fixture. Similarly, we never used to get on with Stoke City until Dennis Smith became our manager then we seemed to become best friends - and of course, from being in the same league for a few years fades away into memories when one team rises up the leagues and the other goes the other way. Still recall watching us at the old Victoria Ground - a hostile partisan stadium with some old fashioned character and atmosphere. |

Re: Next Batch of TV Live Games
A lot of the dislike for Vale stemmed from them chanting during the 2 mins silence for the Aberfan disaster the day before during the game at Vale's ground.
Stoke fans there on that day actually laid into them for doing it!
