I don't really know but I doubt we had no scouting system. Every club seems to have people out there scouting to varying degrees. Maybe there was little cohesion and a lack of resources to speculate on players and this appointment will get us back towards where a club like ours should be.

Great post Neil. Very sensible to limit your financial input! It reminded me of a local team in the WNL who agreed a £10 bonus for every goal scored hoping it would enthuse the strikers a bit more and the 2 main strikers scored 90+ goals in a 32 game season! Almost bankrupt the club!

FGR. Halifax etc and other jobs outside football but I guess the board will have done their homework and listened to the manager.
