It certainly wasn't a push. Yes his hands were round the player ever so slightly, but Pearson was using his body to stop him manoeuvring, to get to the ball. Then the bloke falls on the floor as he knew he wasn't able to get to the ball once corner had been taken. To say it's a penalty is ridiculous as you would have to give one at every corner given. Ref has been watching too much World Cup over the summer. Arrogant bar steward - he also seemed far too friendly with some of their players..

Agree with your last sentence. With the penalty there are 2 pushes on the same player. Nothing worse then at any other corner and I agree if he gives it then he gives one at every corner. Unfortunately there are fouls at a lot of corners that don't get given. It was a soft one yesterday but the ref has been allowed to make that decision.

Sadly he didn't give it for the blatant push on our boy before the ball went out for the corner that they equalised from.
Useless lino had a clear view of it but he never made a decision all game, the ref probably wouldn't have listened to him anyway.

I totally agree with those comments, why we withdrew our entire team into the penalty area to defend corners was difficult to understand, it creates major problems for the goalkeeper. Surprised that Ricketts did not recognise this aspect of the game. Fondop should stay up front rather than retreat to our penalty box.

' Goalie outside the box ' is surely the job of the linesman to flag an offence. The Mold Rd culprit missed most of them.

At the end of the day we under performed and Bromley deserved a point.
It will be interesting to see the footage of the penalty incidents but it's all too easy to blame the referee for us not winning.
Hopefully lessons learned and we move on to the next important game tomorrow.

I made this point weeks ago. I would leave JMD on the halfway line so that if/when we clear the ball from a corner then we put them on the backfoot rather than the ball coming straight back in.

Apparently Sam uses zonal marking on the corners which is why everyone is back - JMD defensively isn't a good header of the ball so leaving him out means the opposition leaving 2 players back and not just 1.

Yesterday we conceded far too many corners and no surprise that both goals came from these. Looking at the highlights then the penalty did seem harsh but we have to learn from that and keep hands off the opposition in the box.

Game management was poor yesterday - 1st half with 2 mins left Tharme couldn't even gain ground from the throw in and we gave them another chance.
All he had to do was go 'down the line' and let them concede another throw in.
For me that's the basics that we used to do at Sunday league level.
Last 20 minutes were really poor and we invited them onto us - unlucky to conceded a penalty straight after the second goal.
However poor ball retention and giving it away too cheaply put us on the back foot time and time again. 1 reason I think Beavon is a better sub impact player for last 20 mins as he can hold the ball up.

Lets hope Sam gets some lessons learned from this.

Agree. Hopefully, SDR is not dogmatic and will adapt with experience.

Not serious I hope? As poor as we played we still deserved to win. Any contact it was a Bromley free kick and yet any push on Wrexham player and we got 50% of them. Fondop had no protection at all from their centre halfs. As for the 'dive', sorry stone wall penalty. Open goal from 6 yards and dives? Rubbish. Would have been a penalty and them down to 10...game over. Not sure if others noticed but just before the tunnel their #18 gave the ref a big hug and both laughing going off. Needless to say this didn't go down well with those spectators above the tunnel.
