Can you explain a ‘naive kick off’? If this refers to booting it up field, most teams up and down the leagues do this. The kick off is an unnatural passage in the game and teams simply want to maintain a shape hence why they look to kick it out in the opponent’s corner.
Hey without a doubt and as you say they have been doing it for years. My point was that it seems we cannot even offer an opinion now.

A key issue with the KO move is that it is executed extremely poorly - both KO moves on Monday hit the rickety old stand and didn't even give the attacker a chance to get any contact. Personally I would prefer to try and retain possession - the better teams at all levels nowadays have a possession game. Hoofball has its place with the right type of big bruisers in a team, however it's something that we don't have so why try and play to it?

What about our throw in situation - we cannot even throw it down the line properly and that is Sunday league stuff.

I still stick by my opinion that tactically we are way behind a lot of teams at this level. We seem to accept a level of mediocrity when we should be looking for improvement.

I would say our corners are better than last season, some of the balls put in by Summerfield are pure quality hell we have even scored from a couple this season! That may not have been evident on Monday but you can't say our corners are crap cos the evidence says otherwise!

How many corners have we scored from this season?

We’re currently 2nd in the league so we can’t be that bad/mediocre!

If I’m accepting a level of mediocrity from 5th tier professionals, so be it. Let’s face it, they’re mediocre footballers. Furthermore, our management and coaches are at the 5th tier so they’re pretty mediocre too. I’m a pretty mediocre supporter because I didn’t go to either game over the bank holiday weekend (sniffle and family commitments, FWIW!)

However, I appreciate and respect the fact that you and others went to both games and are not overly satisfied with what you saw. It’s pretty easy for some gob sh’te to say “look at the league table” when you’re cheesed off having spent most of your bank holiday Monday watching mediocre 5th tier professional footballers

LOL - yeh a waste of a BH Monday. I really should have known better than to go to an away game with a big following

I agree with your point about 5th tier but shouldn't it also be about improving and a bit of lessons learnt. The definition of madness and all that.
Some players make it so difficult for themselves by trying to do things above their pay grade. The KISS principle is something that some players should really think about.

Last season the league table and a few ground out wins masked basic problems with the team. Lets hope they can pick themselves up now from a truly awful performance (again not the result).
Sam has said in the media today he is surprised by the negativity but lets face it this started with the team not the fans

Fondop the 1st from the ball over the top and Pike the 2nd from the cross by Drew.

I remember Manny scoring from the FK at Eastleigh and trying to remember which corner we scored from.
