It will be an opportunity for the centre-half, who can also play in midfield, to get some games after he fell down the pecking order at Gresty Road.

Dave Artell is the manager there!
I see from the article that we have agreed to pay "a proportion" of Bradley's wages. let's hope the same applies to other loanees, ie we're not paying their wages in full.

He can't tackle and we have Carra and Tharme before him. Not F chance IMO.

According to the Crewe site he is a central defender I think it looks like cover for Manny and Pearson myself or to beef up the midfield, then again considering he said he wants a small squad it might be just play a formation of 3 at the back 6 in midfield & 1 upfront

Basically, our youth set up isn’t good enough to produce players for the first team hence why we’re scouring league clubs for their kids. Sad but that’s the way it is.

Yes sad but unfortunately true. Tharme though has some potential and is a good build for this level. Came up against experienced Wright on Monday but performed OK considering those around him didn't really help. Hopefully he will learn and improve unlike some before him

I would have preferred a bit more of a mix with the loans - Drew/Hinds both similar type players and then Pike also a forward and only Beavon with experience but a poor scoring record really.

Hopefully Walker is defensive cover rather than midfield as we really need someone in the middle that can put their foot on the ball as the current 3 don't appear to be able to do that. The ball is like a hot potato between the 3 of them which is why we have been going more hoofball again.

If we can keep in the play offs and improve again in Jan then that will be considered a good start to Sams career and our fortunes.

Perhaps the 'Chester' link of Graham Barrow & Artell has helped in bringing in this player.

Ricketts has now had a bit of time to see his playing staff in action from the technical area - perhaps he can see improvement is needed in certain areas. Also the Solihull match tends to suggest we are coming second best in physicality - not enough big solid brutes with height in the team - also demonstrated v Bromley.

Not sure but I think it was Luton under John Still - the team were going nowhere but if a player wasn't working out he repeatedly kept changing personnel - a high turn around of players and eventually got the recipe right - perhaps Ricketts is of a similar nature.

We certainly need some cover at centre back and preferably some more strength in midfield - Tharme is a decent back up.

Once again the team sheet tomorrow and on Tuesday will make interesting reading. No doubt the versatility of Walker to be able to play in various positions will be appealing.

News on current injuries seems to be extremely quiet - will Manny, Rutherford & Jennings return anytime soon ?

Saunders to had a high turn around of players till he got it right, but his took a few seasons & his cost a lot of money thanks to Moss.

Does Ricketts know this?

He seems to have him pegged as a midfielder:

Ricketts said: "Bradley is an excellent young player who can play in a number of midfield roles.
