Good to see, but a shame the club's moral stance doesn't extend to playing clubs whose director of football helped a cop killer to flee the country.

Demeaning chanting is going to cost a fortune if we extend this to away fans too, god help us if we get Chester in the cup. was she really upset by the chant as ive read nothing from her point of view.

I imagine she's got thick skin and heard it all before but I doubt she was hardly revelling in it. Probably got better things to do that put her feelings up somewhere where she'll just get anonymous people online telling her to 'get in the kitchen' etc.

Political correctness gone mad.

Am sure the match officials get far worse than this every game. Are we going to apologies to every snow flake who gets hurty feelings??

Our club was apologising for the behaviour of our fans. Judging other clubs is a different matter and a different debate. This is an embarrassing thread showing just how deep the acceptance or tolerance of this behaviour is.

I dont think it is an acceptance of the behaviour. I think people are just highlighting that there is not the same standards set for a whole set of other instances which unpleasent things are said/shouted at referees, opposition fans/players, but these seem more acceptable. Being derogatory towards anyone should be treated the same across the board should it not?

If the answer is yes to the above, which it should be, that does give football a dilemma, because like it or not, people see a part of football culture for many generations to say/shout/sing things they wouldnt do on the streets outside the football ground, and i wouldn't know where to start, to change that culture.
