Re: Aldershot reaction
Its early days we are hanging in there. Today i thought summerfield was our mom by a country mile and deverdics was terrible. Aldershot were a shadow of the side last season. Our fans were fantastic as usual shame last weeks foul ups probably knocked 500 off todays gate. Onwards and upwards

Re: Aldershot reaction
I’m just glad we have continued our great start to the season. We’re averaging over 2 points a game which is usually what is needed to finish top or close to it.
In fact our average points per game so far would see us end up on 98 points...sounds familiar. |

Re: Aldershot reaction
The better of two poor teams - we weren't fluent and didn't play well at all.
Second half a bit better. Agree about Deverdics - it's like playing with 10 men. Once Young came on we were better and had more drive and energy. First goal was bizzare - Pearson and one of their players tangled / fell to the floor / shouted - everyone seemed to stop in their tracks and were motionless - corner came over and Beavon had a free header - nobody marking him and I think both teams thought the game had been stopped - the lesson is you have to play to the whistle but I felt it was harsh on Aldershot to a point - think Rendell and their assistant were eventually booked after the protests died down. Pearson picked up another ridiculous yellow - needs to keep his mouth shut instead of berating the ref at every decision that goes against him. Aldershot had chances second half and should have scored - the ball seemed to go straight into Lainton's hands from everything they threw at him which wasn't much. Defence pretty solid against a generally weak Shots forward line - last season they were without doubt the best footballing team to visit us by a country mile - looked poor by comparison this time. We seem to be slow out of the blocks - second to the ball far too often especially early on with few outlets to move the ball forward - lots of back passing which makes me nervous - no midfield cohesion - must do better against better opposition. |

Re: Aldershot reaction
Tharme is class. A very disjointed performance with
magurire-drew looking disinterested for most of the game, but he can snatch a goal from nothing. Fondop was useless to be fair but to play badly and win is a good omen imo. Summerfield was outstanding and Young made a difference when he came on.
