Re: Todays Ref
On one hand I liked the fact that he made both the player, and their physio look like a couple of plums [although the physio wasn't at fault of course!].However,if the ref was = as seemed to be the case- wise to the lad's play-acting,he should have just booked the little f*ckwit.

We couldn't buy a decision until that moment then the ref seemed to wise up to what they were doing and started giving most things to us. Best way to sum him up was we've had worse

Re: Todays Ref
Glen Hart was the referee - been around for a good few years and officiated as both referee and assistant through the leagues.
Sometimes when two footballing sides want to do nothing more than play the referee goes un noticed - it's a two way thing. He also has to have some reliance on his two assistants and the 4th official. Thought today he was largely OK. A vast improvement on what we could be served - praying we don't get landed with Sam Allison who must have put in the worst refereeing performance we have seen in recent years. Going further back in time - dare I mention Gurnham Singh ? Possibly the worst referee to ever set foot on the Racecourse. Various sources suggest Pearson was booked today for a foul - I'm not so sure - I think he would have got away with it and just the free kick would have been awarded but not for the first time in the match he aggressively remonstrates / confronts the referee and the yellow card comes out - it is a weakness in his game that could prove costly if it eventually results in a silly suspension. I thought Pearson was luck to escape without incurring a card first half when he gobbed off at the referee - probably got away with that one as it was so early in the game - Ricketts needs to have a serious word. |

Re: Todays Ref
We thought he'd made a rod for his own back by stopping the game for their left back. He was almost duty bound to do it for anyone else who went down and Aldershot players certainly milked it.
Having said that, we thought he was decent. |
