The optimism felt by most fans hoping that the team will win the next game (whatever the result of the previous one) seems to be destroyed amongst a regular band of scribes on here whenever we lose a game - or fail to win. How many times do you hear fans at the game groan and lose faith if there's an early mistake or two? It's been like that, season after season for far too long.

Ideally, the players would respond to the fans groans and moans by stepping up a gear, or the manager would sack the lot of them and replace them with world class players. Neither of those is going to happen. So many players today feel "entitled" once they have won a professional contract. They buy a smart car, designer clothes, and think they've made it to the top... "their" top in our case being five tiers down from where we might aspire to be - so nowhere near "the top."

Moaning and groaning at them hasn't worked - see the last God knows how many seasons.

Like with so many other people nowadays, their egos need massaging every few minutes, or they start to sulk.

So, instead of slapping them down at games, let's encourage them with a bit of positivity. It might not work, but bitching at them obviously doesn't work either.

No-one is suggesting that us sitting alone cross-legged in a darkened room burning incense is going to help us improve the way players perform... but a bit of positive encouragement from the stands instead of the all too frequent moans and groans might - that's MIGHT - bring the change in fortune that fans feel we deserve.

Try it - because moaning obviously doesn't work.

Didn't know this thread was still rumbling along till now, each to their own as regards Kiwi he is harmless nobody needs to comment on his long rambling ego trip if they don't like it, I get what his point is but it's time to stop talking like someone on crack.

TOWIU Yes get your point about the moaning and groaning at games it gets on my tits to whilst the game is on get behind the players & the team encouragement works better but every club in every division is no different than we are and has been for years, I remember the stick Mel Sutton got by some even Billy Ashcroft had his moaning fans if he made a mistake. No social media them days tomorrow vent it, keep the comments good or bad for on here and other Wrexham sites everyone has an arse and everyone has an opinion. Just because it's no your opinion it's don't make your's right & the Same for myself and all posters it's a discussion board.
