Surely Wxm's most versatile player was Micky Evans.
Just for accuracy.........his name is Alan Hill.

Graham Whittle.. a true legend and one of the best strikers of a ball I have ever seen became a ferocious full back. Bear in mind this was when Wrexham competed at the highest levels in their history.. along with othe pre mentioned legends Billy Ashcroft and Alan Hill.
The only present day player is the oft, and imo, unfairly criticised Mark Carrington. Whilst not in the same class to those above he remains a loyal servant to our club.

Don’t forget the versatile legend that was Wes Baynes.

Always liked Carrington. We would never find as good a professional as him and what he can offer in different positions at this level.

Wouldn’t say he’s approaching club legend level but can certainly see him staying for another few years and finishing his career here.

I have been a big critic of Carrington in previous seasons - especially in a midfield position.

However, under Ricketts he is a different player and dare I say it playing the best football he ever has in a red shirt.

For versatility playing both full back positions can't be easy - performing the role in the same match - even harder.

Yep 100% Mickey Evans.

But as mentioned Bobby Roberts deserves a special mention. Manager and stand in goalkeeper is pretty legendary stuff.

And it was the great Jock Stein who called up to give a personal reference for Bobby to Wrexham.
