Re: Team for Sutton
Sutton United 0 Boreham Wood 4.
This should be all the incentive we need to get a victory - if BW can win by such a convincing scoreline then why not us ? Got to stay unchanged up top and in the middle. Although the left back position is the one for opposition managers to target. Jennings was ripped apart last week - he was also skinned at Sutton on a number of occasions there last season, especially first half. I doubt Ricketts will change the back four - I am itching to see what Hinds is capable of - perhaps a place on the bench but making the squad 16 is going to be hard especially given recent form and results. |

The contest was over by 25 minutes. I think we can win this game sure, but I am not expecting or demanding a thumping. Solid 1 or 2 nil will do. |

Re: Team for Sutton
Sam will do what Sam will do but as this is a forum and the question has been asked 😉 I'd personally go with the same stating 11 as last Saturday, a just reward for their performance.
They deserve that at least, as others have said, he's not afraid to make a substitution if he thinks someone's not at the right standard.

We should go there looking for a win but, most importantly, avoiding a defeat. The only change I would like to see is Carrington at LB, if he is fit. He may not be a natural left-footer or get forward as much as Jennings, but he is a better player. Leave Roberts at RB and hope he can up his game again.

I think there is a mentality issue to overcome too - perhaps we need reminding that this club is a massive fish in a small pond - if we are to go up we need to 'start to believe' that we should be able to go to Sutton and Harrogate and get wins - they must be as fearful of us if not more so. it was the same as last week with the predictions for Ebbsfleet with many forecasting the Fleet were so good we would struggle for a win. I recall last season little Macclesfield going to Prenton Park as the title race was reaching the finish line and they blew Tranmere away with an outstanding 1 - 4 win. This isn't being disrespectful to the opposition it's just raising our expectation that there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to go to Sutton and come back with 3 points - the team seems to be getting stronger every week at a rapid rate of knots - Ricketts has built fantastic competition for 16 places - we should expect to do very well. |
