Re: Wyn Davies
Strangely I talked about this last evening with an old school pal who I hadn't seen for 25 years in a pub in Devon ! He had flu and couldn't get to the match .i went as a schoolboy in the snow on the Kop.
Now maybe my memory has faded but I seem to remember that all Wyn's goal were scored with his FEET , which in itself was unusual . Bolton were looking for a Nat Lofthouse replacement and our Wyn fitted the bill . I often wondered if the whole thing was staged to prove that Wyn could score with his feet as well so we could pocket the £20000. Didn't realise he came from Deinolen ! Glory days but my favourite was Ron Barnes , the left footed right winger! |

Re: Wyn Davies
Ken Barnes was the most creative player I've seen in over 60 years of watching Wrexham. He was once rated as one of the finest English players never to be capped by his country and played a key role in the Manchester City team which won the 1956 FA Cup. He had slowed down a bit by the time he joined us as Player/ Manager but the brain was just as sharp. A joy to watch and always a place for him in my best ever Reds eleven.

Re: Wyn Davies
I first remember Wyn as a raw youngster playing for the Reserves in a Cheshire League game against Rhyl, who I believe had the former Liverpool and Scotland keeper,Tommy Younger,in goal.
Did this happen or am I dreaming?
