The penalty decision.

I didn't go but have, liked many others watched the Vanarama highlights and our club highlights - have come to the conclusion that we can all watch it 100 times and it doesn't and will never be conclusive to the viewer either way - the distance / angle of the camera and the number of players blocking the view of Pearson & Clough makes it impossible to tell what happened after the Sutton player pushes forward with a lowered head - the ref being more central and having warned Pearson had a far better view than the rest of us.

The red card was shown for the tackle. Summerfield didn't even speak to the ref from the highlights...

Crazy penalty decision also.

Agree on both counts.

The red looked an absolute nothing. Could form an arguement for it not even being a booking.

Penalty I had to rewatch it to understand why he actually gave it.

I have just seen the red card incident on the extended highlights. It confirmed what most on this forum think. Yellow maybe, but never a red.

Well we didn’t get beaten fair and square then did we. It’s also never a straight red card.

Alan Dale - a referee to monitor in the future especially if he officiates a game involving us.

I have been told we are appealing the red card - decision to be announced tomorrow afternoon.

Welsh FA to make the decision - another Artell conclusion perhaps

Wanted to see a replay to see how much contact was actually made but even if there were none it looked like Summerfield dived in when already on a yellow which was only ever going to result in a second card (even if a second yellow making the red rather than a straight red). Overall a poor performance and one lacking intelligence possibly not helped by a ref who was easily conned and a linesman on one side who couldn’t make a decision for himself no matter how obvious. Fair result and we need to put it behind us and move on. Important that Pearson learns from the mistake which he clearly has as per his interview post-match and that we see a reaction similar to Sutton’s in the next game on Tuesday night. Felt sorry for the 380 fans who turned up at Sutton as the team let them down with their performance, however the fans were magnificent as always.

The penalty you can't see however they should have had a pen when Lainton ran into their player so that's evened out. The red card, I think he has given it because Summerfields foot comes down in a stamping motion, studs 1st. Yellow card for me but not convinced it would get over turned either.
