Default Back the boys, make some noise

Just read this interview with Havant and Waterlooville manager Lee Bradbury about tomorrow's game at the Racecourse here:

https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/f...trip-1-8657168

"The longer we keep a clean sheet, however, the more their crowd will get on their backs." is a quote that caught my attention. The crowd does get irritated if Wrexham don't score quite quickly, and if that interview's anything to go by it's something opposition scouts and managers are noticing.

So, whilst I realize this post won't reach 100% of the Wrexham faithful going tomorrow, I should ask, are we too quick to get on the player's backs during a game?

No - don't believe we are - infact in the Tech End I can't say as I have noticed it at all. However our home form is pretty decent in terms of results so far this season albeit we are not performing regularly enough with an attractive style of football.

I just hope we win the toss for a recent change and can kick into the Tech End second half.

Not made a home game yet this season but immense frustration is definitely something that has resonated from home crowds when we haven't been at it in previous seasons. It is easier said than done not get on the players'backs in that situation bug important to try as it is counterproductive.

They are likely to sit in, break up play and frustrate as long as they can and if tthat is the case, the team and ourselves need to show patience as we pass the ball around to try and draw them out and create space in their half.

Couldn't agree more. Bradbury is just trotting out football cliches.

If we show our opponents respect, but work harder than them to succeed, we will do well. We generally come to grief when we think that we will walk it. Football talk is so predictable - what do we really expect their manager to say?

Don't think anyone's giving them a hammering this season, seem to have been beaten late in quite a few matches, so patience may will be the key this afternoon, end of the day, like Barnet, three pts is the priority at the moment to keep momentum.

Couldn't agree more. For years I've had a season ticket on Mold Rd but this season decided to move to Tech End. Am I glad I did. What a difference!! I liken it to Red Passion v Facebook.
Red passion being Mold Rd of course. Always quick to criticise, moan and slow to give credit. Kinda like 'ok.I've paid my money.,now entertain me. Win 5-0.or I'll be on your back!"
In tbe Tech End its support from the first whistle. (With the odd exception of course).
There is an exceptence that things aren't perfect, its the NationalLeague for Christ sake, but you are our club,we love our club,we are going to support ya. We've paid our money and we are going to have a good afternoon regardless.
I know who I'd rather have behind me if I were on tbe pitch.
The Redpassion v Facebook comparison? Just take a look!!
