I'm not interested in what other clubs are doing, I'm interested in what suits us.

The reserves were abandoned by a previous manager to enable more money for a slimmed down first team squad to be available. Theoretically it was a conscious decision to bring in Quality not quantity.
The decision was supported by the board. Don't know if that was unanimous.
Currently the manager is directly responsible to the Football club board. He has regular contact on a daily basis with Spencer who is the appointed director with responsibility for Football matters. I believe the relationship is a good one.
The manager is allowed a great deal of freedom and is not micro managed.
As for an excess of loan players, I can't see the problem. We have been fortunate with injuries and have adequate cover through the squad and the loanees have generally been injury free. The 2 who are missing out are still adding to the team in training and will be pushing for a place. if they are not, they will become surplus to requirements and will be offloaded.
We have currently got the best management team in place since we've been down in tier 5. Leave them to it.

You are making out its a problem with the club but I am not so sure. Re Hinds, it seems as if its the opposite, nothing to do with the club.
Hinds and the lad who played for Mac last season. I’ve forgot his name.

It’s a club problem because it’s happened under the last 4/5 managers.

It is a bit different this time though, the problem isn't that we have signed poor players as the past two managers did, it is that we have too many...Hinds + Burgess have the potential to be great at this level, indeed Burgess already has had success with Macc and Hinds has shown big potential much higher up.

But, of the 5 in our match day squad, 3 have excelled (Lainton, Beavon + Pyke) and the other two (Walker + JMD) have proved capable, at least for the 16 if not starting.

I worry more that we have signed too many and may loose out on the chance to sign reinforcements that are required in Jan although I don't fully understand the system. Have we used our allocation? If we send one back, or there loan expires, are we able to bring another one in? If we sign one permanently then can we loan another?

I trust Sam knows what he is doing in this regard.

Assuming that Freddie is fit and all is well, wouldn't it be possible for him to play in The F. A. Cup. or The F.A. Trophy?

I think Sam has done a really good job so far and I agree (as per the point I made) then a top heavy loan system is a very small criticism to make.

Hopefully he can now get the best from Fondop and then improve again in Jan which will need the release of a couple of players.

Onwards and upwards hopefully.

This improve in January is hope more thank anything, all the teams into our league can sign players whenever they like as long as not league players can't they? As most of Sam's signings are loans who's is he going to sign in January that can improve us? Keates did well in January he made us weaker, without money we won't be signing anyone in January that's better than what we have, I know about the tricking in Ward money it sounds like ground improvements and maintenance will eat a lot of that up.
