Re: First third of the season review
It's not all about the transfer window, otherwise Salford will just buy the championship in January. No doubt all the teams in the mix will try to strengthen and we appear to be financially better off than for many years, but if it was that simple the money bags teams would always kick on. Team spirit and balance can easily be affected with one wrong move, we are now into the knitty gritty of the season and hard work on the training ground is needed to build on the cracking start this group of players have made and find that necessary improvement to stay top through the winter months. I think SDR is right, there is more to come from this group and fingers crossed, with his coaching staff the competition in the squad we can carry on growing.

Re: First third of the season review
We are once again defensively solid this season, with a bit more in midfield. Hopefully young will kick on now too after yesterday.
Just like last season, it's up top we are struggling a bit. We seem to create more chances but just can't seem to finish them. Could holroyd be given a chance (when fit) as he's a proven scorer at our level? Great first third of the season overall, I just hope we can keep it up! Posted via mobile theme |

Re: First third of the season review
What a massive Christmas double header we have coming up. If we are in a similar position at Christmas I expect us to fill the Racecourse on Boxing Day and have fans in the "Home ends" at Salford

Re: First third of the season review
The point I'm making repeatedly fans believe managers can work wonders in the January window, when it rarely happens, not just for Wxm. If we are not looking like capable champions by Xmas it is unlikely we will win it. The same will go for Salford, Orient or all the others. I'm confident based on SDR's performance already he will secure a couple of quality additions but it may have to be the loan market again to get those players in January.

Re: First third of the season review
Ricketts has done really well in a short space of time. We need to try and stay within 5 points of second place and in January sign a quality number 9 and perhaps a quality attacking midfielder. It might help the budget if we can offload a few players - Deveredics and Holroyd spring to mind.
