We aren't the best funded team. We can't tell if we've got the best management team. We are acutely aware of our own players strengths but worry a lot about their weaknesses. We can see opposition's strengths in games when they out-perform us, but we miss their weaknesses if we don't expose them.

If the above paragraph is a summary of the elements we can use to judge what we can expect, then it's very very hard to judge. One thing is for certain,. We can't expect to be top.
Is this just a thread for the sake of a thread?

To be honest they are doing as I had hoped. After the away draw at Harrogate I said that the next 7 games between then and Leyton orient were all winnable and we should really be winning them.

3 down, 3 wins. Keep it up boys!

If we keep picking up points at this rate we'll get 98 (again!). I didn't think such a thing would be on at all. So people ought to be a bit wary of wanting different types of player. You could ask for a goal scorer (again and again and again) but how many more points would we have with one? We could have less if that goal scorer was someone who needed it on a plate like Bishop or Boden. You could ask for a better break up player but to get that alongside the footballing ability we have already is unlikely; remember people still griped when we had a perfect break up man a year ago. A bit of shuffling with the loans might free up some opportunities, and but the team is in a good place.

If we have the cash, I’d love for us to go after Danny Rowe at Fylde although others with deeper pockets would like him too and would pay him more than we can.

However, throwing a few hundred grand at Rowe in January could pay for itself in 12 months time.

I hoped Fondop was the man but it’s not realistic to expect him to hit 20+ goals. He’s going to be good in fits and starts and maybe get 10-15 but it's a seasoned striker we need who’ll average 1 in 2 supported by the blokes who’ll score 1 in 4 or 5.

Exactly my thoughts Alan.

There's zero chance in getting Danny Rowe. He's born and bread in Fylde and comes from a wealthy family who live 10 minutes down the road from the ground. Throwing money at him to join will not persuade him in the slightest, as he's got plenty.
