If abuse of those who volunteer / run for election / etc is accepted or made normal then people will give doing such things a swerve in future.

Agree. Abuse of anyone when normalised or when accepted is wrong. don’t you think ?

John Mills is not someone who would lie.

This shows the ugly side of social media and forums. A number of past and present members of the board (all volunteers) have been unnecessarily abused by “fans” on here and elsewhere on the internet. Look at the stick Barry Horne, Don Bircham and especially Spencer Harris have received. It all went beyond constructive criticism of the job they were doing.

It’s not surprising therefore that an incident such as this then occurs.
