Best 3 points all season cos I don't think we'll play like that again this season and win.

Dreadful

Looked like Young hit it right at their keeper from my angle but there were a few players in the way. I'll take it anyway.

Fondop is lost without Beavon, he only plays well with Beavon on the pitch.

This. But we should have been comfortable by half time. Second half we looked completely clueless. Not sure why we didn’t change shape against ten men. It confused our midfield and Pools seemed to have the extra man. But it’s three points and that’s what counts. Crying out for a genuine goalscorer though.

Three points gained, but apart from that absolutely dreadful. I was sitting in the stand wishing my life away! Centre backs and keeper performed well, but as an attacking force we were pathetic. It looked like we were 13 players who had never met before! There is no way we can be serious promotion contenders playing like that, as a decent team (with 11 players) will whip us.
I missed Holby City for that !!!!

Sooner or later Lainton won’t save everything and Pearson won’t head everything away and then we’ll be in trouble. Still can’t score goals because of the defensive attitude that is deeply ingrained within this side.

I’m not even sure a new striker would even be the answer, it’s the way we play. Sit back, sit back and take our chances that the defence will be amazing.
Can't argue with any of that

indeed a poor second half, when we seemed far too often sitting back, still we had chances -Fondop in 2nd half, Pike in first & JMD, win when playing poor, so long as we really can and do improve

Very, very fortunate to get 3 points. If they had 11 men they'd have scored second half. I thought the forwards were ineffective like they were on Saturday and maybe giving Hinds a sniff could either bring in another good forward or, at the very least, keep JMD, Pyke and Beavon on their toes.

I was in the Tech End, so as far away from it as possible, but Young's goal looked like a case of very poor goalkeeping. Either way I'd take it. Lainton had a similar moment in the second half but managed to turn a very well hit (and swerving like mad) shot away.

The red card is probably the difference between 3 points and 1 today. However, it was a red card every day of the week and Hartlepool fans only have Andrew Davies to blame. He's their captain too so for him to lose his cool like that is a massive blow. I'd say exactly the same if Pearson had done it.
