Re: Hartlepool - hard work
Abysmal performance 2nd half and as bad as anything seen last season.
All the blame in the forwards who were not good but hell Wright missed a sitter then failed to control the ball with an open goal and then completely missed Lawlors pathetic off target attempt. Walker cant shoot either and only a major GK blunder gifted us the points. The ball is moved across the back but there is no movement in front and the midfield 3 struggle to trap a bag of cement. 3 points in the bag but so frustrating watching so many players struggle with the basics. People on here have disagreed with my comments about the basics and ball retention but you can argue all you want when its a clear black and white situation. Fk me that was awful to watch and isnt going to bring in the floating fans. I could really go a beer now after watching that. Last edited by pagl; 30th October 2018 at 22.45:05.. |

Re: Hartlepool - hard work
The defensive line is starting to really do my head in, second half we always drop so deep, we start nice and high but then run back 5 yards faster than their attack which just invites pressure onto us. Ricketts keeps going ballistic on the sidelines telling them to move up the field but Shaun keeps dropping deeper and deeper

Re: Hartlepool - hard work
2 dreadful perfomances 4 points taken I can live with that. However and it is a HUGE However if the Trust dont give Sam a Bloody big slice of the money coming in for Ward to strengthen the side in January we will not stay where we are. There are some Big inadequacies in our team the midfield by and large are average and the Forward line is definitely not performing but again I think they are not getting decent service. Another worrying sign is that we seem to now to be playing so deep or getting pushed back so deep we get wave after wave of attacks coming at us. When Sam first came here they came out and go for it and if it wasnt working Sam would send on fresh legs and go for it, now we seem to be trying hold on to what we’ve got. To finish on a Brighter note WE ARE STILL JOINT TOP Who would have believed that before the Start of the Season

Re: Hartlepool - hard work
Pike looked like he couldn't be arsed tonight. Young and Beavon decent and even Jennings took a few players on but the rest looked very nervous and couldn't string 2 passes together second half. A wins a win but we need to improve.

Re: Hartlepool - hard work
That was a seriously concerning performance for a team that has aspirations to avoid the 6/1 play off lottery and win this godawful league.
But maybe that's it.Maybe we are just happy with a play off spot ? That was was shocking against a mediocre team who had their captain sent off in the first half. Hartlepool were the better side and looked much more likely to score second half. Our tactics are clearly not to concede and hope we nick a goal. Our defence is the only reason we are where we are because we have no midfield or attack. Ricketts needs to get a grip of the situation before yet another great opportunity is blown apart by negative tactics Rant over |

Second half was as bad as anything I've seen since dropping into this league. Lack of any strategy other than lump it was worrying. Looked like they had the extra player not us. Shocking and depressing. All eyes on Ricketts for me |

Re: Hartlepool - hard work
After Luke Young's 1st effort, the freekick and the goal, you could see their keeper wasn't great yet we only had JMD's effort after taking the lead, and fvck all in the 2nd half. Akil isn't much better than Robbie Evans, Fondop is woeful and hopefully Pyke won't be seen again after that.
Surely Hinds and Burgess have got to be worth a look at some point. Very lucky to come away with 3 points
