Re: January and the three weaknesses
Like Tranmere last season they signed Dylan Mottley-Henry and Josh Ginnelly, Both decent wide players.
Something like that would be good which would improve the quality of our squad Last edited by Redordead; 31st October 2018 at 18.16:25.. |

Re: January and the three weaknesses
Hes proved he can get the goals last season plus this year the midfield is of a better quality. Debatable if what we have upfront would work with him though. We got the best out of him when he paired with Boden, in reality though he didn't click with Holroyd.

Re: January and the three weaknesses
8 goals for us but only 1 in his last 9. I would be seriously dubious about signing a striker who can't get in a side that has only scored 15 league goals so far this season. When he 1st signed for us he had a point to prove, however if we get the Quigley of the last 9 games he played then it would be a wasted signing. A big gamble for me.

It would therefore need Vale to want to release him, Blackpool to agree and then a loan agreed to us. The logistics being complicated. Shame really if his game time is limited at Vale. We either need an experienced forward from a league club or take a chance with an up and coming. Now is the time to be sorting possibilities. |

Of the three weaknesses I outlined I think the best option for improvement is the holding midfielder. It's probably the cheapest option but would have the biggest influence on performances. I can understand the cry for a great striker but they are really hard to get in January. I think we could afford a division one standard holding midfielder. We couldn't get that level of striker. |

Re: January and the three weaknesses
- Playmaker (a la Fowler) who can pick it up from back four and start attacks
- Striker who can score - Winger with pace who can actually enable us to counter attack Get those three and play offs will be a certainty with title a possibility based on the quality of the above. Oh and dock the wages of anyone who passes is back and sideways more than 10 times in a match. |
