They need to work on movement and passing otherwise all that happens is it goes side to side a couple of times and its then launched. The midfield would need to change to play a more possession game and the front 3 would have to hold the ball better. Some things are beyond the pay grade |

Re: Sam asks for patience
I think many are forgetting the fact that we DID create many chances on Tuesday particularly in the first half that could have changed the game completely. Drew had one cleared off the line and a header that my auntie would have put in. Wright should have scored as well. Even in the second half Fondop displayed the touch of an elephants midwife when a squared ball could have ended in the net. I believe even 'Gerry Gerry ' would at least have managed a shot at the keeper.
The patience is clearly directed at the players but ,as pagl says, the patience of the fans is linked to that. Our style of play is developing but we simply have to remember that in this division players will make mistakes. I think Wright was struggling with his role on Tuesday and the senior pros have to help him. Sommerfield is missed as he slows the game and picks a pass - we did not really have that on Tuesday. |

Re: Sam asks for patience
I think Sam is asking for patience from both players and supporters, whilst they work to improve the type of football he wants.
The players need to be better on the ball, draw out the opposition and play in triangles, whilst others find space, then play the right passes. Pagl is right it does require players to be bold, confident on the ball, cutting out the basic errors with the ability to keep possession, despite a high or concerted press from the opposition. The fans need to be patient and embrace us trying to play a passing game on the deck. Not screaming, get rid or groaning when it goes to Lainton or continually across the back or when there is nothing on in midfield and the ball is played backwards. The players were it better in the cup v Harrogate maybe because there was less pressure but again it was notable there was anxiety with the fans. Remember if the opposition don't have the ball they can't score. We may improve again once Summerfield is back but the midfielders are key in making themselves available to get on the ball in tight situations, show some composure and find the right pass. Walker is key dropping back available for a pass as the 2 centre backs split and full backs push to the half. He has made a difference and doubles up with a bit of height protection for the back 4, but I guess if Sam doesn't get his way of mastering this style, this is a position he will look to bring the right player in. |

We faded in the run in against Fleetwood.. any other season would have seen us promoted with that points tally. The playoff season could have been different had we made that investment in the January.

Re: Sam asks for patience
I think it's clear to see that when fans get frustrated in the stands it translates to players on the pitch , the first half in Tuesday was pretty good players passing it sound well, just lacked a cutting edge.
As the second half went on fans were getting frustrated and all of a sudden players players can't control the ball, passes go astray the defence sits deeper etc. Possession football isn't the most entertaining to watch at times but it's certainly the best way forward. |

Re: Sam asks for patience
I went to a dinner last night and got talking to a few chaps who were Blackpool fans. They were moaning about their present predicament with Oyston and weren’t attending games.
I told them they didn’t know they were born |
