I think given a decent number of new recruits, it being the manager's first job and also the league position we are sitting, then a bit of patience is the least they deserve.

It's all well and good keeping the ball at the back, but when our midfield don't move to give the back four an option and the opposition just press, what's the point? It just ends up with hoof ball anyway.

The thing is Sam is trying to play the game how it should be played on the ground pass & move keep possession look for opportunities to attack, but this is the difficulty up the leagues players have more ability and are able to do this more, down in the pits that is National League if players had more ability they wouldn't be down here, so Sam is trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

I love his and agree with his philosophy but for it to work we need better quality players in midfield and upfront plus a little bit more pace and players who can read the game, a few like Pagl says struggle with the simple stuff the basics.

It's a simple game really pass & move, pass & move players need to create their own space move around look for the one twos, we also need Lainton to play the ball out more build from the back, not just hoof it upfield where we have nobody with the ability to win it or hold it up.

Unfortunately for the quality needed to play this kind of football they don't come cheap.

Looking at how Hartlepool set up in the second half I think Sam should of changed to a 442. Would have been able to attack on both wings and not leave us exposed in the full back areas. Swap Pyke for Fondop and put MD on the left flank and get some crosses in to the box. I just think we went about it the wrong way....anyway what do fans know

We will probably play some good stuff but get beat tomorrow.

Even in the second half Fondop displayed the touch of an elephants midwife when a squared ball could have ended in the net. I believe even 'Gerry Gerry ' would at least have managed a shot at the keeper.
The patience is clearly directed at the players but ,as pagl says, the patience of the fans is linked to that. Our style of play is developing but we simply have to remember that in this division players will make mistakes. I think Wright was struggling with his role on Tuesday and the senior pros have to help him. Sommerfield is missed as he slows the game and picks a pass - we did not really have that on Tuesday.
For all the grumbling about the performances there were four or five absolutely golden chances and not one tested the keeper.

Always annoys me we say use the Ward money. How about the 1,000 fans we usually get over the budgeted 3,600 where does that money go?

Should qualify that better - a very early xmas meal in the trade industry I work in. Not sure it could be considered a “dinner party”!
