Up for the Cup, don't let the league be a distraction
Top of the league, is great for confidence and attracting the fans through the gate, but all eyes should be on the FA cup this week, even if it takes a replay to progress to the 2nd round.
Success breeds success and with the financial rewards now available it is vital if not critical that a club like ours has successful cup runs every now and again. Many of us can remember the days when a cup run was an almost annual event and some seasons a bi-annual event, so c'mon Sam get the boys charged up for this and make sure we are not on the wrong end of a cup shock. |
Re: Up for the Cup, don't let the league be a distraction
Why might it take a replay?
We're top of the National League , they're struggling at the bottom of National league South. Should be £36,000 prize money , £12,500 T.V. money in the bank and the prospect of a winnable tie in Round 2, then who knows what? COYR |

Re: Up for the Cup, don't let the league be a distraction
Well since the draw we've both had three games , but they play away tomorrow night , so with us having a weeks rest from a game and them playing you'd think we should be in better shape , but it's the Cup so who knows .

Use the subs and lets not underestimate an FA Cup away game. The FAT can be used as a resting game as the potential revenue from the FA Cup will benefit the league situation :) |

Hopefully we will have scouts at the game tomorrow, they're only one division below us and won for the first time in the league last weekend. Complacency could well cost us. |
Re: Up for the Cup, don't let the league be a distraction
Looking at the fixtures our only midweek match is at Barrow on the 27th.
I’d go full strength providing we win the squad would have 6 days to recover for the Maidstone match. |
