Pyke just signed a contract extension with Huddersfield so he's definitely out if it wasn't 100% obvious already.

Lainton and Walker we should try and sign permanently.

Hinds and Burgess can go back in January.

Depends what league we're in for whether we sign Beavon permanently or not

With half an eye on a potential League 2 place next season we will need to up our game on signings so a review on the others, dependent on where we are next April.
I think Lainton will be out of contract with Port Vale next summer as he signed a 2 year contract with them and this is the 2nd year of it. We may be able to agree one of those pre contract thingys with him in January to sign him permanently at the end of his current contract. Maybe save some money although I appreciate it would not free up a loan spot in January.

Think a bit longer term and also loan places. hmmm.

Not Pyke, Huddersfield have offered him an extension to his current deal there.

We could therefore get him cheap in January as he would go for nothing in the summer. I think we need to free up a loan spot.

Incidentally, Burgess is due to return home before this month is out. He was originally on 6 months but it was reduced to 3 months.

I think Lainton has been great, and if a deal is easy to do, then that's good. However, signing players takes time, and for me Sam will need to prioritise other areas in January first to cover loans ending and other areas of the team we need to strengthen.
