For me the better player is Walker - would be happy to release Wright if it would help secure Walker who has limited ability - we can also release Leo Smith who in my view wont break into our first team - especially if we go up to L2.

As important is to get Mani, Pearson and the like on new deals to prevent a rebuild in the summer if we go up/stay dpwn.

Would be massively short sighted to release Wright who I think can turn into a really good player. Smith I could take or leave really.

Yeah let's reduce the size of the squad to about 14 players.

Nothing wrong with a bit of depth and I think you've forgotten the one Wrexham player to pick up a player of the month award this season.

Yes i understand your point but if we did that for every position we would have a really large squad, but hey I'm sure Sam has his own ideas of what he wants this is just a forum of our opinions.

Would we get a buyer for him?
Walker far more versatile and worth a contract IMO.
Wright needs to improve if he expects to be playing 2nd half of the season.

We have decent cover in a lot of positions other than CF

Wright has improved, certainly from the player he was last season. I think he is a victim of our more strength in depth squad and currently we have 3 players better suited to SDR 3 man midfield. It doesnt mean he is a bad player and for many aspects of a midfielder he is probably better but the 3 more experienced lads, look a good balance and are keeping him out. We would be foolish to lose him unless we can get better but he is still WiP and will get better with games. He didn't seem great at centre back but I would persist with working on that because I think he has the physique to be good, if needed and increase his options other than a box to box player or midfield enforcer. He is still going to get games this season and a good option from the bench and hopefully he will have the drive to want to work on his weaknesses and keep a shirt. It's took Walker a while to win people over but let's not advocate getting rid of our good young players.
