There was always an element of Keates winging it though - before he became Wrexham manager he was basically just a student at Glyndwr wasn't he?

Whereas Rickett's left a coaching role at a Premier League club to come here, apparently with the backing of Carl Darlington. Also I don't think money would be as big a factor for Ricketts as it would Keates.

I'm sure this managerial team will want to see the job through. If we miss out on promotion and they move on at the end of the season then fair enough, but can't see anything happening before then.

Like I said, he was at The Rock this morning with the team. They were training on the plastic pitch as preparation for Maidstone.

Doesn't mean he won't be going to Shrewsbury, but he wasn't at their training ground.

If it was Swindon, Swansea or Coventry maybe....Shrewsbury no way.

He has come to do a job and he will be here until a bigger fish closer to home come in for him. He's a very astute worker. He knows he has the basis here to go up several levels and build a good reputation for himself.

If you honestly believe he will jump ship to Notts County or Shrewsbury then you will believe anything.

Let's also remember it's his first job and he's only been here a few months. He knows if he leaves and struggles he will be unemployed again by the summer. No chance of getting the push here. We have money in the pot and are building nicely. Plus he don't need the money like Keates did he's extremely well off.
