three gilt edge chances that would have put the game to bed . If you cant score you aint going to win matches

I think the next big test is against Salford on boxing day. Unless SDR gets a striker or two in, it could be play offs :/ sort it out SDR!!
The big fuss about him is, the only thing he did was win the game with the one chance he had, and the fact he's scored more goals than all of our forwards combined and is the leagues top scorer.

Didnt work as hard as our strikers though.

We were the better team but just couldn't find the back of the net. They had a couple of chances and scored both. You've got to take your chances, we just haven't got that striker to do so yet.

It's a game when I didn't think we needed to make any substitutions. Beavon, Pyke and Ruthers were keeping their defence really busy and we were well on top. Having said that, Layton Orient were a horrible bunch of players.

Classic case of taking your chances,we didn’t and it cost us. Sounded like we played well but it’s the same issue each game in that we struggle to finish games off.

Always interesting - stick or twist ?

I felt we had to do something to win the game and make some changes with fresh legs - sometimes it works.

Unfortunately the introduction of Alabi for Orient in the 85th worked a treat for them with a goal scored a minute later.

In fairness at least Ricketts made a positive attempt to win the game and didn't leave the substitutions until the dying embers of the game.

A draw would have been disappointing - a defeat was criminal - we didn't defend that corner properly, stay focussed and concentrate hard enough - but it only takes a moment to escape from your marker.

Almost a repeat of the Newport play off final defeat I thought - lots of possession and missed chances - then done by 2 late, late goals.

Played really well and had enough chances to bury them before they scored. Good tip of the league match. Gutted to lose but a good performance.

Ricketts’ substitutions meant we withdrew from three up front and went to 4141. They were designed to ensure a 0-0 and leave Fondop up front to try and work something on his own. Unfair to Fondop, negative and cost us a point.
