No they can only sign players from our division or lower as Fleetwood come under football league rules.

The only way they would have got him on loan before us is if he wanted to go there I guess. He saw us as the bigger club in that respect.
That will go in our favour come January but we need to still be up at the top competing (and being in the 3rd rd of the cup wouldn't harm either!).
My issue is if Fleetwood release him, then transfer fees aren't an issue. That's when how much a club could offer him a week might come into the equation over playing for a 'bigger' club..

Its up to Fleetwood. If he is being released in January there won't be any issues with him playing for us in the cup.

If they plan on retaining him, then we wait and see.

Grant's probably on decent money at Fleetwood.

I mean fair play to him if he does take a pay cut and sign for us permanently but it's very rare a player drops two levels nowadays on a permanent transfer if under contract elsewhere - and sometimes even if not.

Akil Wright is the only exception I can think of in recent memory to come to us - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
