Re: Sarge
I don't do as many away games now but for the local games I could usually expect a cheerful nod from Sarge and a brief chat about form and rumour. I'd see him at all the home games though as he only sat three rows in front of me. Shocked that my regular greeting of "Alright Sarge" won't be repeated. Massive fan. Respect and condolences to his family.

Re: Sarge
Awful, awful news, just seen this whilst working on a nightshift. I met Sarge a couple of times in The Maesgwyn, first time we met he recognised me from my southern accent when he realised my name. Used to have a good bit of banter here on RP and he always made a big fuss of me whenever I bumped into him at a home game pre-match sharing the odd pint or three, always great to see him after the 190 mile hike from darkest Berkshire.
Sincerest condolence to his family and close friends. A light has gone out at our great club. |

Re: Sarge
So long since I logged in and posted , but had to for sarge , or mark as I knew him for many years . Not many people leave a memory on so many , but this guy was different . The superlatives just would never be enough . One of the best guys ever and his early morning meanderings on the away day ahead (on Facebook ) made me smile every time . A family man , a football man , a friend to many . RIP my pal x

Re: Sarge
RIP my good friend Mark, known him for years. A kind, generous, loving and caring guy. He stood by myself and my girls when my wife died at such a young age. All the laughs and rows we had in work, a proper character, who'll be sorely missed and never replaced. X

Re: Sarge
RIP mate. Life and footie won’t be the same without you. From being cricketing rivals to cricketing team mates you will be sorely missed. Spent great times with you mate from Bordeaux to Paris, London to Portugal, Forest Green to Kiddie I won’t forget a minute. Life is so unjust.
